President Obama:
You are choosing to fail. You are throwing the fight with all our lives at stake.
Stop groveling and stop making excuses. Stop sucking up to right-wingers, and please stop sneering at your supporters. Stop delaying. Just stop the whining, and start to do your job. You’ve already wasted a whole year.
The ’08 election was a bargain. You made campaign promises to us, and in return we gave you everything you asked for. We trusted you. Now we expect you to hold up your end of the deal. You are supposed to be a responsible adult.
You seem to be trying to sabotage the outcomes you claimed to support. Have you sold us out? You parrot Republican talking points as if you were their press secretary. The GOP establishment is not your constituency. Big business is not your constituency. We The People are your constituency.
Stop undercutting every constructive effort in Congress. 45,000 people die every year for lack of medical care, and their blood is on your hands now. "Sixty votes" is choosing to fail. "Bipartisanship" is choosing to fail.
70% of voters want a public option or access to Medicare. Lowering the access age for Medicare would be simple to pass using reconciliation. That is democracy, and that is a tool the GOP used a lot. They never had your landslide or majority, and they still got everything they wanted done. You don’t even try. Laziness is not acceptable. Incompetence is not acceptable.
We did not work for you and elect you just to watch you sit around looking cute and helpless. Whether you have any genuine principles or not, we expect you to deliver on your campaign promises. Failure is not acceptable. And you cannot sell garbage to us as gold. We actually know the difference.
Let people buy into Medicare, now, on a sliding income-based scale. Drop the age ten years at a time, and you will be beloved. No sneaky gifts to Big Insurance or Big Pharma, no abortion restrictions, no regressive middle-class tax. Just get it done, quickly.
Don’t be such a pompous wimp. Make it happen.
