So Michele Bachmann has ethics?, who knew?

The Republican House member says she is re-evaluating her decision to go because of conflicting information about whether she would be violating congressional ethics rules.
This so called 'Tea Party Convention' in Nashville is turning into one of the funniest events in recent politics apart from Palin's resignation speech, Oh, and Palin's 'Nellie' hairdo on the Oprah Show.
The Washington Post can't resist this little rejoinder at the end of the article -
The tea party event is organized as a for-profit venture by Tennessee lawyer Judson Phillips.
Tickets for the keynote speech by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin cost $349.
But wait, more

Will Palin Keep Her Tea Party Appointment?
Link: Mother Jones Sarah Palin is under some pressure to pull out of her scheduled speaking engagement at the National Tea Party Convention next week in Nashville. MJ is quoting anonymous sources saying tickets for her speech -- touted by organizers as a major coup -- aren't selling and she's facing the embarrassment of a half-empty auditorium. Some convention sponsors have already pulled out over disputes with Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips, who's organizing the convention and, some say, charging too much for tickets (Palin is reportedly getting a $100,000 speaker fee) and trying to make a profit for himself. Some conservative activists are calling on Palin to pull out in protest. "In her contract she is allowed to send a representative if she can't make it if she's sick or something. Maybe she'll come down with the flu," activist Anthony Shreeve says. Others, though, are hoping she won't let down those who already have tickets.

Palin is reportedly receiving $115,000 to speak at the affair. That’s only $10,000 less than her annual salary as governor of Alaska. Not bad for a couple hours work. She’ll undoubtedly deliver a big helping of word salad to go along with the lobster and steak that will be served at the humble populist grass-roots event. Or will she? The National Tea Party event has fallen under withering criticism from those who see the event as the GOP big money fundraiser that it is. Somehow I don’t think that the original Tea Party patriots who dumped tea in Boston harbor under the cover of night would have been paying more than $500 a piece to celebrate their activism with some almost-one-term ex-governor and a plate of surf & turf.

they have this bonus feature quote from Henry Paulson
"Right away she started calling me Hank... But for some reason, the way she said it over the phone like that, even though we'd never met, rubbed me the wrong way. I'm also not sure she grasped the full dimensions of the situation I had sketched out - or so some of her comments made me think."
Ya think Hank?
