If I didn't, I really should have. That's what we have to show for 30 years of Hal Rogers and his failed economic and foreign policies. When it comes right down to it, Southeast Kentuckians cannot afford two more years of Hal Rogers and his failed politics and policies of the past. If we don't start to slow the growth of long term poverty and joblessness, Southeast Kentucky will become an economic wasteland with a shrinking population.
Poverty is not a new problem for Southeast Kentucky. Take a drive down Kentucky Route 80 (aka Hal Rogers Parkway) and you'll see what I mean. Old, broken down homes which house some of the poorest among us. Take a trip to Clay County or Jackson County or even my home county of Pulaski (which just so happens to be the home of Congressman Rogers). For the past thirty long years, Hal Rogers has "brought home the bacon" only to find his economic policies to be a complete and utter failure.
Jim Holbert is a Progressive Democrat running to unseat Congressman Rogers. Holbert is a former Army and Coast Guard officer who served over 20 years on active duty, and presently serves the people of Southeast Kentucky as an EMS Helicopter Pilot based in London, Kentucky.
Jim's platform consists of immediately ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and bringing our troops home, ending bad free trade deals which have killed thousands of American jobs and gave them away to other countries, and creating a national energy policy that works to benefit America and not OPEC. This message is resonating with voters in the 5th District, and we are gaining ground.
The election is quickly approaching and we don't have much time. Our volunteers are hard at work and their work is paying off. We need to purchase some ad time on the local radio and TV stations quickly. Please consider making a financial contribution to the Jim Holbert campaign. Click here to go to his ActBlue page.
Thank you in advance! Please tip and rec. Thanks! :)
