UPDATE: Virg Bernero's campaign summarized what Snyder lied about at the Gubernatorial debate:
Gubernatorial nominee and Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero today called out his opponent Rick Snyder for misleading Michigan voters in last night’s first and only scheduled gubernatorial debate.
In last night’s debate, Bernero revealed that another of Mr. Snyder’s companies, Discera, recently expanded in China, opening a new state-of-the-art facility there just this past July. During the debate, Mr. Snyder told the people of Michigan definitively, "Discera does not have an operation in China. They’re based in San Jose, California and they’re based in Ann Arbor, Michigan."
After the debate however, Mr. Snyder changed his mind, admitting the company did open a new facility in China, but saying that the facility is only "a small office with a card table in it" and that is only a sales office.
But according to a news release on Discera’s own website, that’s not true either. Discera itself claims the facility is "state-of-the-art" and that "the new office features engineers, equipment, and researchers to support chip and module integration, high definition and 3D video technology, and radio frequency and smart grid design."
