Scott McAdams announced last night that his campaign had hit the $1 million mark, sending out a press release with some impressive statistics:
In only 2 months, the Scott McAdams for U.S. Senate campaign has raised over $1 million in donations. Almost all funds have arrived in donations under $200. This statistic stands in sharp contrast with Scott’s opponents who rely on outside media buys and corporate public action committees (PAC’s). Facts about the McAdams campaign fundraising results:
Total amount raised August 5, 2010 – October 20, 2010: $1,010,000
Total number of donations: Over 12,000
Total number of people who donated $200 or less: 88%
Total number of Alaskans who donated: Over 3,900
Total amount donated by Alaskans: $538,000 (54%)
They also released a new ad, focusing on Social Security and specifically Murkowski's support for privatization.
McAdams has Murkowski looking over her shoulder, since she knows that as he peels of Dems, her already slim chances of winning as a write-in further fade. Up until now, she's been focused solely on an increasingly ugly one-on-one with Miller, but now has a snide and condescending attack on McAdams on her campaign site, under the title "Scott McAdams' Inexperience."
That's as good an indication as any that Scott's doing something right in this campaign. Help him keep at it, and help him keep that ad telling the truth about Murkowski and Social Security on the air. Help him continue to get the word out about the positive direction he promises for Alaska with $10, $15 or whatever you can kick in.
