Charles Alan Wilson, 64, repeatedly threatened to kill Sen. Patty Murray. Today, he received a year in prison.
Wilson had recently been turned down after requesting an increase in disability benefits, his attorney said. A survivor of four heart attacks, Wilson was living in pain but unable to take pain medication because his liver was compromised by his drinking.

In his defense, the guy sounds like a decrepit alcoholic with a bad heart and a liver so corrupted he can't take pain meds, but can anyone here explain why increasing his disability benefits would have helped with the pain, the heart condition or the ruined liver?
No word either on where he got the idea that HCR would eat away his benefits, but one guess is all that's necessary.

... He was scared the health insurance reform pushed through by President Obama would cut into his benefits, so Charles Alan Wilson, 64, threatened, repeatedly and in explicit language, to kill Sen. Patty Murray.
... "I want to .... kill you," court documents say Charles Alan Wilson of Selah said in one of his foul-mouthed calls to Murray's office. "Kill the .... senator! Hang the .... senator! I hope somebody puts a .... bullet between your .... eyes," court documents say he said in another call.
... Wilson's attorney noted her client was concerned federal insurance reform would cut into the government benefits he was receiving.
... Coughenour noted that there is a word for those who would use violence or threats of violence to subvert the democratic process. That word, he continued, is terrorist.
