President Barack Obama will speak at 8:00pm EST.
Rapper Common will hold the pre-program musical performance at 6:45 EST.
With the Midterm Election 3 days away, President Obama hopes to rally Chicago and Illinois Democrats to keep the Governor's and (his former) Senate Seat.
Multi-Grammy winning Rapper Common will be performing at "Moving America Forward Rally", who also is a Chicago native.
"I definitely believe my voice and my participation will help mobilize voters," Common said in a conference call Friday with reporters.
On Friday, a group of students with the University of Chicago Democrats gathered with other party officials at the Midway to make signs for Saturday's rally.
"I think there probably isn't a better way to get voters to energize than having a president come and lead the get-out-the-vote effort (and) have a big rally," said student Daniel Comeaux, 18. "They're projecting huge crowds tomorrow. I think it will be a good turnout, and I think it will be lots of fun."
Obama is supporting first-term state treasurer Alexi Giannoulias against five-term North Shore Republican U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk in the battle for Obama's old U.S. Senate seat. The president also has been campaigning for Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn against Republican state Sen. Bill Brady.

Update: From Mayor Daley's speech:
Daley hailed Obama for having the "heart and the conviction" to bring "health care, jobs, economic development" to America in two years. The mayor said he is "sick and tired" of "people condemning" with unfair criticisms of the president.
"Do not turn your back on President Obama in Chicago or Illinois," Daley said to cheers. "We are not going to do that. We are going to march to the polls."
Democratic U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin asked how many were in Grant Park two years ago and got a large cheer. "We have not forgotten that night," he said.
-Nice to the retiring mayor still doing what he cans to get the Democrats elected in IL!
UPDATE: Rapper Common is Now performing which means that the President is about one-hour away.
Update: Alexi Giannoulias is now speaking! I met him this Tuesday at a Bill Clinton-Chicago Rally. He is super cool. He signed my poster and took pictures. Nothing like I thought a politician would be. Please, Illinoisans, Vote for him or send him some love now.
Thank you!

UPDATE: Sun Times is reporting that "An estimated 20,000 people packed the midway Saturday night at the University of Chicago to hear President Obama attempt to rev up his base in hopes of protecting Illinois Democrats in next Tuesday’s elections"
Most importantly: "Organizers asked all 20,000 attendees to sign up to volunteer to canvass voters from now through Tuesday."
President Barack Obama:
"Now Chicago, in three days, you have the chance to set the direction of this state and this country for years to come," Obama said. "Just like you did in 2008, you can defy the conventional wisdom."
