I’m Carrie Lucking, the Communications Director for Tarryl Clark’s Campaign for Congress in Minnesota.
First, she wanted to privatize it. Then she called it a "tremendous fraud." And now she thinks we should end it altogether by "weaning" people off it.
Whose message is that? It's Michele Bachmann's … on Social Security!
And that’s the message of our newest TV ad:
We know voters in Minnesota's 6th District want to send a message to Washington this year, but it’s not the message Michele Bachmann wants to send when it comes to dismantling Social Security.
In 2005, Bachmann proposed privatizing Social Security so that her campaign donors on Wall Street could gamble our retirement. She called the system a “tremendous fraud” and now thinks that we should "wean" everybody off it.
We’ve been spreading the word about Michele Bachmann’s backwards priorities when it comes to Social Security, and voters are listening. In fact, recent polls show us with an edge among senior voters – and that’s critical because seniors are the most likely to vote in the upcoming midterm election. They know Michele Bachmann is not on their side.
Yesterday, Tarryl held three town hall meetings with seniors throughout the district, and received the official endorsement of the National Committee to Protect Social Security and Medicare. Retirees – and those of us who hope to retire someday – know that Tarryl will always be on our side.
There are only 25 days left until Election Day and the tide is turning. We need your help to push us through November 2nd. We need your voices on Facebook and on Twitter.
It's time to decide: what message do you want to send to Washington this year?
