It's just after 6:00 in the West, and polls will be closing in an under an hour in Nevada, and ballots need to be dropped off by 8 in Washington, Oregon, and California. You can take it to a post office in Washington, but make sure it's open with a window after hours, so it gets a November 2 postmark.
Steven Pence was interviewed on NPR, and among the talking points he parroted was the Republicans wanting to repeal "Obamacare".
Instead, what we'll get is Boehnercare, or as I'll call it, Bonercare.
Ostensibly, that means allowing denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions, no limit on Cadillac Health Plans to rip off businesses, keeping young adults from staying on their parents' health plans, and lots of sweet, sweet baksheesh for independent expenditures from the health care industry.
If you live in places where the polls aren't yet closed, get there. NOW. If you have a mail-in ballot, get it to the elections office NOW.
We need the Nevada, Washington and Alaska Senate seats. We need Dr. John Kitzhaber as Governor of Oregon instead of political neophyte Chris Dudley, who has pledged to cut Oregon's capital gains tax on the rich from 11 to 3 percent. And we need dedicated, experienced politicians in California instead of failed executives and Nigerian scammer coddlers.
And we certainly don't want Bonercare.
