I don't write many diaries. But, for a long time I have seen something on this blog that deeply worries me.
I see so many people falling into a trap and causing so much division and anger.
And it does little more then defeats us as a whole.
I keep seeing over the last couple of years diary after diary based on little more then a rumor. On gossip and speculation. It is always something that reflects badly on democrats as a whole and especially on the president.
then many jump on the bandwagon of pissing and bitching, name calling and accusations. Eventually the comments turn into insults hurled at each other. Hurt feelings and unfair charges.
And surprise! A day or two later, it turns out it is false.
Within a few days, another rumor pops up and the whole thing starts again.
And we never seem to learn.
These rumors are from the press. Some I think are done purposely to make us fight and divide and the press can read and amuse themselves.
Some are from a favorite game of the press: playing guessing games and speculations. They print them as fact and someone here picks up on it and without thinking it over, runs here to write a diary about how evil Obama or democrats are for this item.
We need to wise up.
We know our media is not credible. The press lives in a world of tabloid and gossip and games.
Ever notice how shocked the thought of fact checking is to today's journalists?
Yeah.
They run with whispers and find fact checking a novel thing and frankly unheard of. So they print the whisper or the game and pass this off as fact.
We need to stop and think: Does this sound right? Is it factual? Is it rumor? Does it sound like a gop planted story????
We call the president horrible names and accuse him of everything short of child rape. And yet, no one bothers to stop and check themselves if this is even true or put it out there to wait and see.
Is this right? Think about it. Why are you so happy to have the chance to call names, fight with fellow kossacks, throw hate at the man you voted for?
There are legit things to get worked up over. Why waste time for the chance to just work yourself up over untrue things.
If the president does something for real that is upsetting, fine. I get ticked and disappointed or frustrated with the President, too.
But, to just fall for anything that sounds 'bad' about the president is silly.
We want our press to give us truth. It is not fair to bash and accuse people on things that are not true.
And frankly, it is rather silly to keep falling the same thing over and over again.
This diary is not to single out any one group but, just meant for us to stop spinning our wheels on things that are not factual so, we can focus on what we need to.
