Thank God election day is here and I finally got to vote. Here in VA-02, I've been practicing for weeks now, holding my nose and keeping my stomach down, so I could vote for Glenn Nye. My neighbor wondered if I was getting nosebleeds I've been practicing so much. Follow me over the fold to see why.
Nye has been an abysmal blue dog, having voted against HCR, Cap & Trade, and many spending bills to look independent. Hell, he even voted against honoring the Chicago Blackhawks and other honorary votes just so he could build up a record of having not voted with the Democrats too much. While over in VA-05 Tom Perriello fought the good fight, won, and stuck with the party's agenda, Nye ran from it from the start. I'm surprised he didn't pull a party switch, except that the asshat in Georgia probably blew that option up for everyone else.
Nonetheless, he has been with us a few times, especially on the stimulus and Lilly Ledbetter act, and a few others. His opponent would be nothing but a lockstep loser Repub - indeed, he is such a party brown noser he just repeats their tired lines and can't even inform himself well enough to know where the military facilities in this area that may be subject to closure are.
Vote, Vote, Vote! If you are like me and stuck with voting for a blue dog, remember it's better than a rabid raccoon. Go vote!
