Once again we believe that the electorate has spoken. But what was their language? Sound bite reality show thinkers voted for "new and improved" no matter who and what it was...again.
With the attention span of a three year old after 3897 mocha lattes, the voters want "new and improved". This reminds me of the same voters who voted for Bush because they perceived him as "decisive". This kind of knee jerk superficial thought process really worries me. Lets look at this mindset, it should be analyzed before the next election cycle. The message: "we like change". "We like decisions". (also accounting for teaparty members who like lipstick on pigs.) A thinking or considerate (or literate) voter might ask, "was it a sound decision, based on fact and investigation?" or "what will the change be and is it a GOOD change?" It is ludicrous, irrational and completely mentally ill to want change for the sake of change. Obama voters (or at least some of them) fully embraced the details and content of the change he was outlining. When he spoke while campaigning he spoke to me on various issues. I didn't vote for him because he stood for change, I voted for him because he stood for the agenda that I feel passionately about. We won't get into what happened with that, thats for another day. The idea that some people randomly want to "throw the crooks out" because the media pushes this as a good idea (sexy) and that experienced politicians are all bad is ridiculous. Change is a good idea only if the change is solid. Teapartiers are selfish irrational toddlers who don't like the sour medicine of paying taxes. We need taxes if we are going to have a civilization (you know libraries...police...mental health services where you can be mandated into treatment for your disorder).
