Every year, Netroots Nation puts on display the creative works of the DailyKos community, and this year is no different. What talents do you have that you can share with the community for a good cause?
Every December I'm impressed by the talents in the DailyKos community. This group has so much hidden talent, it's a privilege when you all share it with us in the Holiday Bazaar.
Will you donate a handmade item?
We take anything from art to crafty must-haves. And you don't have to be a Martha Stewart Wannabe to donate an item! Some of our most popular items are baked goods -- although we'll gladly accept donations from any brilliant woodworkers out there. (Last year ETinKC fashioned a wine rack out of wood which was simply stunning!)
Click here to donate your item to the Holiday Bazaar!
Some of the items we've gotten in previous years include:
- Hand-dipped chocolate truffles
- A variety of preserves and jams
- Hand-crafted wine rack stained to specification
- Crocheted and knitted items
- Home-roasted coffee
- Quilted pillows and throws
But it's not just handmade items. We can use nearly any talent you might have, if you're willing to donate some time to teach it to someone else:
- Teach a novice chess player online how to improve their game because you’re a chess master?
- Show someone how to samba because you teach lessons on the weekends?
- Play your guitar at a celebration such as an anniversary or birthday?
So click on through and donate! If you've got questions about donating, contact the Netroots Nation Development Director Karen Kolber (karen at netrootsnation.org), or leave them in the comments.
If you've already donated, leave whet our appetite by telling us what you're donating in the comments.
Proceeds of the Holiday Bazaar go to Netroots Education and Arts Initiative, the 501(c)3 organization that supports Netroots Nation.
UPDATE: Oops, I guess I should include when the actual Bazaar is taking place... Thursday, December 2nd through Tuesday, December 7th. Come buy a bunch of stuff then!
