Let's look at some of the major pieces of legislation of the last two years, who voted against it, and what happened to them, shall we?
Lily Ledbetter act: Boren, Boyd, Bright, Childers, Griffith all voted against it. Everyone except Boren lost.

Final conference report on the Stimulus Act: Bright, DeFazio, Griffith, Minnick, Peterson, Shuler, Taylor all voted against it. Bright, Griffith, Minnick and Taylor lost.

Final version of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act: 33 Democrats voted against it. The following lost: Adler, Arcuri, Boucher, Bright, Childers, Davis (TN), Edwards, Herseth Sandlin, Kratovil, Marshall, McMahon, Minnick, Nye, Skelton, Space, Taylor, Teague, plus a few who lost in other races like Melancon for LA Senate, and Artur Davis in the AL Governor primary. Not to mention those who retired and open seats were then lost.
I guess I'd like to throw it out there and see what others think. Were these Congressmen defeated because of their opposition to the President's agenda or in spite of it. Are there other bills which come to mind as showing that voting against the Democratic majority was inviting political suicide? Was this really a repudiation of the Obama administration or a repudiation of those who would obstruct it?
