CNN took a cheap shot at Olbermann tonight on Anderson Cooper 360 basically calling him a gasbag hypocrite who is the equivalent to the people he criticizes at Fox.
In another example of CNN pandering to the "middle ground", the substitute host on Anderson Cooper 360 tonight took evident delight in taking jabs at Keith as a hypocrite and showing short clips from Countdown to support their accusations.
The clips showed Keith calling Faux on their millions in contributions to the Republicans and Keith calling Raul Grijalva "my friend". I guess CNN thinks there is some moral equivalence between the Fair and Balanced Faux News Corpse giving million to Republicans and Keith contributing a few thousand quietly and privately to Raul Grijalva.
As I understand it, Keith was making a point in saying "My Friend" to support Rep. Grijalva who had RECEIVED MULTIPLE DEATH THREATS from various right wing whack jobs who resented him fighting against the proposed racist Arizona laws that Brewer was trying to enact. But the way the bubble head anchor presented the segment was like "There you are, definitive proof that Keith Olbermann is biased and a hypocrite". Unbelievable.
The segment ended with a three person of Paul Begala, Joan Walsh and some right wing talking head woman who were invited by the CNN host to unload on Keith but surprise, surprise, the right wing woman was the one who came out strongest in defending Keith in contrast to the lukewarm "Let's wait and see" attitudes of Walsh and Begala.
While I applaud Anderson Cooper on calling out the right wing lies and dishonest politicans on both sides, the feigned outrage of tonight's hit piece on Keith smacked of the false equivalency that makes watching CNN such a frustrating experience 50 percent of the time. There is no doubt that calling things as they really are would be too "biased" in the world of CNN.
