Born Mary Elizabeth Anania, she became known to us as Elizabeth Edwards.
She was a mother of four, Wade ( who passed away in an accident in 1996), Cate, Emma Claire and Jack.
She was a formidable lawyer in her own right. She remained using her maiden name until after the death of her son Wade, at which point she retired from law practice.
She was an advocate for health and GLBT issues. In fact she was an amazing advocate for every issue that she took on.
She was a best selling author of two books.
She was an amazingly strong woman. She endured many tragic events in her life and yet remained with amazing energy and positive outlook in life right until the end.
But the legacy she leaves behind, and what I know she wants to be most remembered for, are her children. She was, NO ,IS, an amazing mother to all four of her beautiful children. I have no doubt that Cate, Emma Claire and Jack will make the world a better place and do wonderful things because of her.
She affected me personally. Its not the place her to elaborate on it and I would prefer to keep that to myself. But she is and will remain a hero and an inspiration to me.
I can't say it better than Cate.
