In the wake of the blizzard that blanketed the Northeast yesterday, let's take a look at how elected officials in New Jersey are coping with the disaster.
First, the Democratic mayor of Newark, Cory Booker:
He delivered diapers to a housebound mother:
... he hit the streets, shovel in hand:
... and yes, he was even there for a woman in labor:
As for Republican Gov. Chris Christie, his state was just hit with a massive blizzard -- so what was he going to do next? What else? He went to Disney World!
But to be fair, he did manage to get a tweet out between Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean:
That Acting Governor would be Democratic senate president Stephen Sweeney, who stepped up after Christie and Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno decided to get a start on their vacations ahead of the storm.
On the bright side, with the Democrats back home dealing with the disaster, Christie can really relax and enjoy his vacation.
