Take it for what it's worth, but I see the unlimited diary posting as a major hole in the website that can be exploited by trolls ad infinitum. For instance, trolls can post multiple diaries at a time, and it shows up on the recent diary list on the inside page. The thinking is that these diaries wouldn't show up on everyone's stream since trolls wouldn't know how to use tags.
What if they do know how to do that?
In that situation, if a troll were to tag their diaries with multiple master tags, it'd show up in everyone's stream, thus overwhelming the website for Dailykos users. This would be an insidious form of a denial of service attack but in diary form. There's also nothing to stop them from getting multiple accounts and continuing this form of attack for weeks at a time.
In having unlimited diary posting, it is my personal opinion that it's become easier to troll Dailykos. Right now, we have a limit of one diary a day, and it's a deterrent to trolling. It's near-impossible to sign up for multiple accounts to troll the recent diary list in such a fashion because you can't schedule diaries for posting to overwhelm the recent diary list. But with Dailykos 4.0, it'd be easier for them to troll the recent diary list. This is why I think having unlimited posting is such a bad idea.
Why shouldn't we nip this problem in the bud before it even starts? Why should we leave ourselves open as a community to this form of trolling attack? If this form of trolling attack does happen, how would it be addressed?
