This will not be a long diary.
It contains only one idea, but maybe that will help.
If it really is true that the Senate Republicans have vowed to run out the clock on lame duck session legislation, then let them do it in style.
Introduce the House tax cut bill. If Republicans want to filibuster then let them. They can filibuster that until their lips turn blue.
Filibuster until they turn the lights out on this congress. Filibuster until it's entirely clear that there is nothing on their agenda worth more to them than tax benefits for rich people.
Now, maybe something like this would be too difficult for our senators. I don't know. Procedural matters. Such things are beyond me. I'd just like to see some fight you know, some fire in the belly.
Mr. President, I voted with you the first time and I'll vote for you again rather than see a Republican in that office. But, with all due respect Sir, I'll be ready to listen to you again about bipartisanship when and if the "bi" part of that actually turns up.
In the meantime I'm pulling for anyone who will take the fight to them. Come on, Harry. Let's see if you can still throw a punch.
