You are a bunch of meanie meanieheads who should stop being wankie wankertons and say what I say; feel what I feel, do as I do.
Learn you nothing hmmmm, from suffering Rodney King endured hmmmm....get along all can you not?
Well then Fa-hu-uh-uh-ck yew-ou.
You suck. You independent thinking arses. You make me want to puke you pugilistic arguers-that-votes-the-samers.
A POX, a pox I say...on you and your precious little kozy kos kommunity. (KKK okk)
Across the jump I pragmatically reconcile my quit with reconnect...a compromise if you will...to endure that which I hate, so I can dispense what I think I know. Paradox and conundrums and questions and answers, unabashed responses and deserved ridicule...we each take, we each give...and come away with our own opinion that was ours, remains ours and probably wouldn't have been or couldn't have been changed regardless of rational explanation or hyperbolic bloviation.
Hello dKos, my old friend,
I've come to speak with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
still remains
Within the sound of silence
In restless dreams I walked alone
Down Narrow streets of cobblestone
Beneath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence
"Fools", said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And whispered in the sounds of silence
A little Simon and Gar never hurt anyone...
I'm a fickle fucking feckless fucker. I rant and rave and learn and forget and leave and come back...but I don't FUCKING FEEL THE NEED TO ANNOUNCE MY DECISION TO AN AUDIENCE WHO DOESN'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK.
When we have these rash of Later Fuckers diaries I always want to know why anyone still believes that anyone else actually cares. If you have made a couple friends on this site...tell them in comments or emails that you are pissed, thin-skinned, and just can't stand to be here anymore.
But you must understand...99%of the people who read your over-active-whine-gland diaries are only going there to MOCK YOU. 99% of the people who take five seconds out of their lives to peruse your five seconds of blog fame, your five second look-at-me moment...Just don't care about why you are pissed, the wrongs you perceive or the fact that, like every other quitter looking for attention, you blame every single person, entity, perceived clique for why you just have to run away screaming. Not once does anyone say...I'm a sensitive politically correct person who doesn't like this sites tone or language. Nope, it is because you got shouted down or pissed on or aren't listened to or somebody troll-rated you or one of a billion other similarly whiny reasons.
I would appreciate the honesty...if it were warranted or wanted. But it isn't it. Nobody forced you to come here in the first place and lurk. Nobody forced you to decide that this was the site for you and twisted your arm while you typed out your sign-up form.
I would care more if people didn't keep using the phrase: "This site just isn't what it used to be". No it isn't. Because we haven't had a Dem president before. We had 8 years (not sure when the site started. I showed up in 2003) of Bush. We were used to bitching about Bush and irresponsibility and lying and corruption and swing voters and wedge issues. We had wars over immigration on more than one occasion. We regularly battled over issues like education and the environment. We constantly had pissing matches over what we actually wanted and what we were willing to do to have those wishes fulfilled. We had the same exact primary battles over Kerry and Dean as Clinton and Obama. We had the same exact finger pointing after Kerry lost and Bush won. But we had Bush to bitch about for four more years.
Now, most of you haven't been here since 2003. A lot of people DO leave for a variety of reasons. A lot of new people take their place. Cool beans. But most of us who have been here for a long time have seen the shit-flinging and trolling and cursing and pettiness and bullying and plain stupid. We consistently return because if you want to argue for policy that stand opposite conservative policy...this isn't a bad place to do it. But if you do be aware that this is NOT a PROGRESSIVE site. This is NOT a LIBERAL site. This site is simply an anti-conservative site. Where the line of conservatism is drawn is different for every person. To the left of that there are about 2000 differing opinions of what "better democrats" mean, what progressive and liberal and left mean, and apparently what compromise and pragmatism mean.
So don't tell me that this place is worse or different or gone to the dogs...because it just isn't true. We butt heads. On a lot of different issues.
What IS different is Obama. We have a Dem president. Before we could bitch and moan and figuratively shoot one another in the face with bazookas...but at the end of the day we had Bush to bring us all and in the darkness BIND us.
Now, we don't. We have OUR guy. And half of us don't seem to like him much anymore. And half of us still do. That is the difference and that is the source of contention and that is a burden.
The gist of the divide is this: one half wants obedience and agreement and cheerleading; the other half might beg to disagree...often...and loudly. Both sides have their freedom to speak from the heart and to defend their positions and attack their opponents. That is HEALTHY people. That is what makes us different from the GOP. We question our leader...not only privately but publicly. Half of us might not like having to defend Obama to fellow Democrats...while the other half of us doesn't like having to defend conservative policy and compromise.
I don't really have anything to say as far as how to make people feel more welcome. IMO, you either want to be here, you want to debate, you want to have a position, state that position and defend that position...or you don't. We aren't always going to see eye to eye. There is a lot of confusing tree with forest. There is a lot of unsavory language and there is a lot of sifting through shit to locate pearls...but IMO, most of the time, it's worth it.
If you wanna take a break...do what most of us do...stop showing up. Pretty fucking simple huh?
If you wanna leave permanently...stop showing up and don't come back. Pretty fucking simple huh?
The GBCW diary does not give you positive vibes or PR. It doesn't make you a martyr or earn you sympathy.
