Nothing's wrong with reasonable compromise. But you don't compromise on a fight you can win -- and you certainly don't cave before the fight has even begun.

President Obama did not force a single Republican in Congress to feel political pain back home for being on the wrong side of the tax cuts issue. And now he's asking us to accept a raw deal.

Today, we're launching a new TV ad with powerful footage of Obama in 2008 -- campaigning in the red state of Indiana -- saying tax cuts for the rich "offend my conscience." We're reminding Congress that Barack Obama won in Indiana and across the nation by taking this principled stand. Click here to see this powerful new ad -- and please chip in $3 to help air it on TV.

We'll air this ad in DC and Indiana. Our ad last week, using Obama's Iowa campaign promise on taxes, was reported on by the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, MSNBC, ABC, Iowa papers, and others. Senators quoted the ad as they talked about this issue. This new ad will have a similar impact.

It will also remind Congress that since the election, Obama didn't barnstorm the states of Republican senators to command local media attention and rally their constituents against them -- something this ad makes clear is possible, even in red states. All he did was talk about "compromise" since the beginning.

Help us remind Congress what Americans voted for in 2008 -- and urge them not to cave without a fight -- by donating $3 to air this ad today.

Today's vote by House Democrats against Obama's tax cuts "deal" is a good first step, but with your help our new ad can push Congress to keep fighting.
