That is the headline on the main thread at Huffington Post - the latest of hit pieces to appear on that web site. Here is the link:

The article is by Paul Blumenthal, describing the deal Obama Administration made with the Pharmaceutical companies. There is not that much wrong with the article, except that it is being used by Huffington Post as a hit piece on Obama.
Many of us didn't like that deal. But, let's face it, without that deal we wouldn't have the weak Senate HCR bill, because many more DINOs would have opposed it.
Pharmaceuticals have just as strong a lobby as insurance companies.
Had the Administration tried to confront both simultaneously, they would have lost more votes in the house and the senate, and healthcare reform effort would have failed right then. Instead, they gave a little, got a little from the pharmaceuticals, and might still get just enough votes to get a meaningful (but not perfect) healthcare reform bill.
When you have two powerful opponents, it is only prudent to take on one at a time, rather fight both, and lose everything.
I doubt that the author of the HP article and Arianna Huffington don't recognize the above reality. Most likely, they ignore it because it would interfere with their agenda to destroy the Presidency of the most liberal President we have had in at least half a century. Why else would they post the article now.
