OK, I realize that this appears to be getting further and further away from politics. Or, perhaps closer, if it raises more questions about why Amy Bishop was never charged in 1986.
Anyway, not only did she shoot her brother in 1986 (and not only was she questioned about an attempted bombing of a Harvard professor in 1993), but now a former auto-body repairman is reporting that, after the 1986 shooting, she ran to an auto repairshop, put her gun up to the the guy's chest, and demanded that he provide her a getaway car. Before he could so so, he says, police surrounded the place and arrested her. (And this was all after she shot a pump shotgun 2-3 times at her house, reloading each time, in a supposedly accidental shooting to death of her brother.)
Now, why exactly wasn't she charged?
Yes, I know this is short for a diary, and yes, I know this is a bit off topic, but the previous diaries on this have generated quite a bit of interesting discussion, so I thought I'd pass this on as well. At the very least, it raises questions about police misbehavior in this case, perhaps with the later collusion of the district attorney's office.
