Sister Sarah Palin is calling today for Rahm Emanuel, Barack Obama's chief of staff, to resign. Guess for what ? She is demanding that the President fired Emanuel over Emanuel's penchant for using profanity and a statement he made that was derogatory of the handicapped. HuffingtonPost's Sam Stein broke the news today. And Stein made a good point on Palin's true motive behind this call for firing Rahm Emanuel :
That this one would send Palin over the edge seems logical. Not merely because of her personal ties to the issue -- her youngest child, of course, suffers from Down syndrome -- but because identity politics is her forte. And the ease with which Emanuel's comments could be used to get people riled up was probably just too alluring for her to simply dismiss as run-of-the-mill heated political rhetoric.
On monday, the former 2008 VP candidate, on her facebook page, argued that Emanuel's offending slur was no less the equivalent of using the "N-word". She is refering to Emanuel's remarks in which he said that liberal groups thinking of running health care-related ads against Democratic lawmakers were "F---ing retarded".
She wrote :
I would ask the president to show decency in this process by eliminating one member of that inner circle, Mr. Rahm Emanuel, and not allow Rahm's continued indecent tactics to cloud efforts. Yes, Rahm is known for his caustic, crude references about those with whom he disagrees, but his recent tirade against participants in a strategy session was such a strong slap in many American faces that our president is doing himself a disservice by seeming to condone Rahm's recent sick and offensive tactic.
The Obama Administration's Chief of Staff scolded participants, calling them, "F---ing retarded," according to several participants, as reported in the Wall Street Journal.
Just as we'd be appalled if any public figure of Rahm's stature ever used the "N-word" or other such inappropriate language, Rahm's slur on all God's children with cognitive and developmental disabilities - and the people who love them - is unacceptable, and it's heartbreaking.
I guess Little Sarah is months late in showing her fake outrage. In fact, Rahm Emanuel made that comment back in 2009, in August I believe. I don't know where Sarah Palin where living in 2009, but if she wanted to be outraged, she should have reacted back then. I think Sarah Palin attacking Rahm can only be a good news for him. HAHAHAHA ! Maybe Rahm wrote it on her facebook. I mean, if Stupid Sarah wants you to resign, you must doing something right.
But since, Rahm Emanuel doesn't have many fans among Kossacks, I'm guessing that Palin could be the newest hero of some LOL.
I wonder what would be Rahm Emanuel's response to Sarah Palin. LOL
Here Rahm Emanuel during the 2008 campaign calling out McCain for picking Palin. Emanuel was among the few people who had the guts to call out McCain for his judgement.
