Let me get his straight, no health care reform, no cap and trade legislation, no banking legislation, no jobs bill, Guantanamo still opened, no trials for terrorists... Do I need to go on? Why did I vote for the Democratic Party? Why do I give them money? And, why hasn’t anyone been fired? I’m sorry, but with majorities in both houses and no results it has to be asked.
Who is to blame? Well, we can start with the Senate. It’s populated by a lot of windbags who like to give their opinions and posture for their next campaign but haven’t done much. There’s been a lot of "work" but I don’t see much in the way of results.
Republicans? Yeah, no kidding, they haven’t offered anything of substance and just vote against whatever Obama proposes. Should that surprise anyone? I don’t need Kos’ most recent poll to tell me the obvious. They have no interests whatsoever in moving this country forward and will use any argument, rational or irrational, to push their agenda, which, as best as I can figure is "Obama is a (fill in whatever disparaging remark you can think of).
The Administration? Clueless to the obvious. They’ve reinterpreted "Waiting for Godot". How about this? Put health care, bank legislation, cap and trade, and the jobs bills to a vote and take your chances. Yeah, we will lose the votes, but it would put Senators on the record and allow progressives to run against them. And, frankly, what is to lose. We aren’t winning on the legislation so losing a vote doesn’t make us worse off than we are right now and might open up some opportunities for progressive candidates.
