It has been quite a while since I have done this so I hope I remember how this goes!
My name is Barry Welsh and for the past two cycles I have challenged "The NO Man" Mike Pence for The United States House of Representatives.
First I want to once again say THANK YOU to all on this site and across the country that supported our long shot efforts. THANK YOU!
Second I want to tell you what it is like in his NO Man's Land.
There are NO job's in Mike's part of Indiana. There is NO sign that Mike wants to do anything for anyone here EXCEPT Mike Pence! I know, that is NO surprise.
Saying NO to progress, NO to alternative energy sources, NO to women, NO to workers, NO to minorities, NO to Healthcare, NO to retirees, NO to new ideas, NO to everything that is not Bush. That's how it is in NO Man's Land.
The DNC did offer a response to Mike as found on Blue Indiana.
Now, I put my name on the primary ballot because I thought Mike would not be able to pass up an opportunity at Bayh's open Senate seat and since there was a draft Pence movement before the announcement, I thought he might have some of the required signatures already in place, but Mike said NO.
I put my name on the ballot despite having NO money, NO pary support and NO campaign in place. I will more than likely withdraw since Mike said NO to the Senate seat (maybe he didn't want to get into a who can be the most conservative battle with former Congressman John Hostettler) and will go back to lurking and supporting progressive politics as a silent partner, but I had to come on here at least one more time and say Thank you to this community and to let you that care KNOW that I am not dead just disillusioned.
I will close with my opinion on the Democratic Senate nominee to replace Evan Bayh. Brad Ellsworth is a friend of mine as is Joe Hogsett and Baron Hill. If it were a populist primary and the people were choosing, John Mellencamp would be aninteresting choice, but this nominee is going to be chosen by the 32 votes of the Indiana Central Committee and it is going to be Brad Ellsworth. For those that don't know, Brad looks like a soap opera star and is right of me in his politics, but he votes over 70% of the time with the party and that is so much better than the PARTY of NO so when the time comes, keep the seat blue and vote for Brad Ellsworth for Senate if you are in Indiana.
Take care of yourselves and I will still be checking in from time to time despite not posting or commenting on a regular basis, and I will be here on the thread while watching the Olympics for a bit tonight.
One final thing, Sherri (the congressional candidates wife) says hi!
Keep up the good fight friends.
Peace
Barry Welsh
