To say the least Israel is a champion in pouring oil on water..
Meanwhile, these last few days, Syria declared High and loud is solidarity with Iran stating an attack on one of us (Liban, Syria and Iran) is an attack on all.
Russian geo-politic is at stakes, China geo-economy is at stake, Persian Gulf countries geo-security is at stake, Israel population is at stakes.
These are good reason to reach out IMHO.
Few days ago defense minister Barak of Israel threatened Lebanon to destroy all its infrastructures if Hezbollah is perceived to make a move against Israel.

Israel: Syria won't detach from Iran

According to the official, despite American and other Western efforts to break the Syrian-Iranian alliance, "the Syrians never suggested this was possible. Syria is an Iranian ally, and we have to deal with it as such."
Ahmadinejad also met with Hizbullah chief Hassan Nasrallah, both in private and in a trilateral meeting over dinner at Assad’s presidential palace on Thursday evening. The discussion centered on "the Israeli threat," according to Hizbullah’s Al-Manar television station.
The Iranian president went on to hold meetings with several Damascus-based Palestinian terrorist organization chiefs, including Hamas political head Khaled Mashaal, Islamic Jihad deputy secretary-general Zi’ad Nahla and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command’s Ahmed Jibril.
According to Al-Manar, Ahmadinejad promised the Palestinians "success" if they sustained "the resistance."
Haven't they proved for years that they can withstand resistance??.
Iran has the capacity to close the detroit of Hormuz, such a move would sky rock the prices of oil, further destabilizing the global economy.
It would have a direct effect on the European dependance on Persian Gulf Oil. Persian Gulf countries would suffer from such a move.

Iran army official: Our missiles can reach all our enemies
Iran could make European countries suffer by cutting off energy supplies and can target any adversary with its missiles, a senior Iranian military official said on Sunday.
Iran is locked in dispute with the United States and its allies over its nuclear energy program which Western countries fear is aimed at allowing Iran the chance to develop nuclear weapons. Tehran says it is only interested in electricity.
The International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) governing board meets in Vienna next week to discuss Iran while world powers are deliberating new sanctions on Iran at the level of the UN Security Council.
Turkey is now bending towards Iran after the terror attack on Gaza (Operation cast lead). The Goldstone report inquiry is postponed for few months under the pressure of Israel and US.
Just imagine if Iran was attacked and its sonsequence via Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, Chiites and Sunnis. The consequence on Irak and Afghanistan and Pakistan would be harsh against US Soldiers.
I have looked around the gulf intelligentsia reports, it seems the only solutions is for President Obama to make his intention of reaching out in motion, meet Ahmadinejad and put a stop in their subsidy to Israel, Iran stopping subsidize Hamas and Hezbollah, but mostly Israel must make a 180 degree shift in their provocative behavior.
May war be avoided it only leads to devastation.
