I know I've annoyed at least a few around here in the past with posts here. That is a small part of the reason why I don't often post diaries - time is the biggest part. However, there is something that you all, in particular the administration here, have to be proud of - you don't censor.
Now, you can take this however you like, but I am posting this honestly. You have to decide whether or not you want to take my word for it, since I have no concrete proof to offer - only my word. As for reasons why you should consider that worth anything, bear in mind that my education in journalism was in a Catholic institution of higher learning. Falsehoods in that setting earned you dire consequences, and I carried that attitude in everything that I've done since then when it comes to writing. Also, what I am telling you about here will appear at some point in the future on another website where I write regularly. I love my editor there, and would never knowingly offer him a piece of writing with false information.
That said, as I was writing the previously mentioned column today, I realized that a post I had written on the RedState website was missing. It wasn't very popular with the users there. I pointed out that social conservatism was not compatible with fiscal conservatism nor with the protection of personal freedoms - two things that conservatives are supposed to value highly.
In the column, I could only link to my main page at RedState - http://www.redstate.com/... There you can see that there is only a post on health care reform - nothing on conservatism in general. I also mentioned a previous diary of mine here on President Carter - http://www.dailykos.com/... You all made it abundantly clear how much you "loved" that one. (One of you even bothered to post a response to it on my main blog page - I didn't censor it.) Thank you.
Thank you for voicing your opinions freely. Thank you for helping to keep the people who bother to write things for your consumption honest. Thank you for proving that it is possible to disagree on important issues of the day, and leave those arguments out there for the world to see even if they make your blood boil.
And I will try to make it back here more often to post. I know you may berate me, and despise what I have to say. That's fine. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll get you to think twice about an issue or two. All I ask is that you remember the reason why I'll bother in the first place - at least you won't lower yourselves to the point where you'll purge what I post simply because you don't agree with me.
