This is nothing new--he's been doing it since he was three. I picked up a Rubick's Cube, scrambled it, and put it in his tiny hands. I thought he would finger it randomly, just enjoying the different colored squares. But he promptly began to twist and turn, and within three minutes handed it back to me solved. I laughed, thinking it was a fluke, that I must not have scrambled it thoroughly enough.
Now my son is twelve and still wowing 'em. He can solve the cube in about a minute and a half now. When he was apprehensive about starting seventh grade in a new school, I suggested he take his Rubik's Cube, invite people to scramble it, and then solve it in front of them. This he did, and it proved to be a great ice-breaker with his classmates and teachers alike. He recently made a video of his solving skills, and when I told him how proud of him I was, he said, "Put it on your blog, Mom!"
So here it is. Enjoy!
