Obama's top intelligence officer, Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair announced Wednesday the United States
may target its own citizens abroad for death if it believes they are associated with terrorist groups
We take direct action against terrorists in the intelligence community," Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair told the House Intelligence Committee. He said US counter-terrorism officials may try to kill American citizens embroiled in extremist groups overseas with "specific permission" from higher up.
Embroiled? Em-fucking-broiled? Uh, Director Blair, just what do you mean by embroiled?
Webster's Dicitonary says:
Embroil:
- To involve in contention or hostile actions.
- To throw into confusion.
So, in your world view, an American citizen being contentious or confusing is grounds for the death penalty?
Uh, my question is, since we're talking about the intelligence community . . . are we talking about the same corrupt or incompetent spooks who fudged WMD data to slam-dunk invading Iraq, dosed unknowing American citizens with LSD and lied to Congress for 40 years about Soviet capabilities in order to maximize the spook budget? Do we really think these clowns are competent to decide who shall live and who shall die? Are we comfortable with trusting demonstrable liars terminating American citizens with extreme prejudice and a total lack of due process or proof beyond a reasonable doubt?
Does any rational person believe that faceless intel officals should have the power to legally kill Americans based on allegations of terrorist activity?
This seems particularly dangerous given recent revelations that the CIA did, indeed, lie to Congress, as some Democrats have long maintained. In fact, the House Intelligence Committee's top Republican, Representative Pete Hoekstra, accused the CIA of lying to Congress just yesterday.
It's bad enough the torturers, liars and murderers at the CIA have a Get Out of Jail Free Card . . . but now we know the same psychopathic types have the power to kill American citizens, thanks to A Bush-era executive order that has NOT been countermanded by OUR president.
