What conservatives forget . . .
. . . when they espouse the greatness of Reagan is that Senate Democrats did not require every vote to meet the 60 vote cloture requirement. But this is the hurdle they have given President Obama and the voters mandate for Democratic governing of the House and Senate. The 60 vote requirement is why we have gridlock, not President Obama's unwillingness to negotiate with Republicans.
When Democrats tried to filibuster nearly ALL of Bush's judicial appointments (rather than pinpoint a few bad ones as had been done in the past), I feared that this would happen when Democrats came back into the majority.
