Oh, I know. This isn't going to be a rec-list worthy diary. Many of my diaries aren't. As a matter of fact, the last time I was on it, it was because I was bashing Sarah Palin as a Christian from the Left which most likely confused some who think that all Evangelicals are one big mushy cesspool of insanity. But that's another topic. I want to talk about hate and how it has no place in humanity regardless of whether or not you believe life on earth began as a result of intelligent design or whether you believe it began in a great BOOOOOM because no one reading this was there. With the growing threat to our planet and thus all of our collective existence, hate is an emotion that humans can no longer afford to embrace.
The truth is , hate , the opposite of love, has no part in humanity and all of us should strive toward peace with our fellow HUMAN . We can all point fingers and bring up cases in the past to justify our hatred of hateful people but guess what ? This too is not an excuse for our own behavior towards others. No one can force you to hate them as hard as they try. You have to decide whether or not to express hate or to express love. As an African American woman who was raised an evangelical Christian , there are many people on this planet who have given me countless and various reasons to hate them and anyone like them.
But I refuse to hate because I don't believe that when my body takes it's last breath on this planet, my soul automatically get's a free eternal nap. Lights out nighty night. I just don't believe that. All of the intelligent energy in this body does not vanish into nothingness simply because it no longer has an earthy body to operate. And I believe that what I do on this planet effects that energy and when it's no longer contained in this body, I don't want to have attracted so much negative energy that I am sucked into and eternity of it. I don't want to leave this earth with so heavy an energy force that my very being spirals down into a massive black hole....filled with say sulfur ? . That's just what I believe. I have a right to that belief.
But, I also don't mock and degrade those who do not share my belief nor do I attribute the horrific things done in the name of their beliefs to them. I don't condemn them for the heartless experiments and opinionated science that enslaved millions of my ancestors and murdered millions of my fellow human beings because that's not who they are. That's who someone else was. And I don't do it because I think it's really stupid politics, which it is , but I don't do it because I have respect for all human beings. I respect our abilities to think for ourselves and to ponder our own existence. I respect our thirst and hunger for knowledge and I don't begrudge anyone who hasn't come to the same conclusions as I have. Heck, even I'm still looking.
I don't believe in lesser human beings and superior ones. I am not superior to others and no one , and I do mean no one, is superior to me. We are all human beings. Different types of the same species and we should treat each other with respect as human beings. In all our quests for truth and knowledge about who we are and how we came to be on this great planet, hating one another for differing thoughts and beliefs does absolutely nothing to solve that question. And we should look back at others before us as evidence that it solves nothing. But to use them as an excuse to continue hating one another today, is worse than animal behavior. We are far more superior than every living thing on this planet except for each other and yet, animals show each other more respect than we do. I mean, at least they kill for food.
Must we constantly look back at the negative behavior patterns of our ancestors that we know is wrong , and concede that we must continue acting that way ? Or do we change? Evolve ? The energy that operates our bodies is very strong; so much so that too much of it actually effects our bodies. We all know this. We call it stress. Ever heard of a man dropping dead from a heart attack after yelling and screaming about nothing really worthy of his life ? Ever hear of a widow passing away of a broken heart shortly after the love of her life departed ? That's a lot of energy folks . Add hate to that and it goes nuclear. Hate is the root of all the wars in the world, My Gibson. Not people . Hate . And we cannot afford to let hate destroy us.
Our planet in is peril and hating one another does nothing to solve that problem. Our hatred has only made it worse. Nations build massively destructive weaponry because of hate. Millions of children are ignored and starved to death because of hate. Millions of people are mistreated, abused and murdered and those who have the power and might to help them don't because of hate. Powerful nations with clean water technology refuse to assist those in the greatest need because of hate. Rape , violence , hunger , murder , theft , greed and wars run rampant among the global populace because of hate. If we all got rid of our own hate, something we have the power to do , we'd become one step closer to living in a better world.
So let us all strive not to hate. No matter who or what vexes us.
