I'm not 100% happy with what looks to be the content of the final bill that is going to become law soon, but I am happy with a lot of it. And more than that, I will be proud of the people in Congress who have fought so long and hard to make it happen, especially those like Bernie Sanders who have managed to get some more progressive measures inserted into the bill.
And given how hard this fight has been, I think we need to show our representatives in Congress that we appreciate what they have gone through. We need to show them we've got their backs for sticking it out in the face of such ugly opposition. We may not be happy with every compromise that was made, but we can be certain that no fixes to the bill will be passed by a Congress who don't think there's recognition of just how hard this process was.
So will you rally? The very day President Obama signs the final bill, we need to be out in the streets showing that we are happy HCR has been accomplished, even if we're still not done. And we need to have a massive rally in DC the following weekend. Once this is done, we must let the image that sticks in the minds of America be of massive crowds of people happy that the country is moving forward on health care. Will you rally?
