I've been flipping through the networks covering the events of the day. I can't believe the way CNN's panel is stacked against the bill. When the Republican guy said that pro-life Democrats are a myth. Then they discussed the Stupak dozen and how "left wing" the bill is, when the host attempted to suggest that the left will be unhappy with the bill because of the compromises offered to Stupak and the pro-lifers, Gloria Borger dodged the issue seemingly unwilling to even discuss any frame which does not define this bill as essentially leftist.
But that's not my point. The media is obviously a problem, and always will be. The point is that the networks are reporting a mass crowd outside the hall, and that not one of the people there is supporting the bill. Maybe this is inaccurate reporting. Maybe it's true. In either case, the HCR proponents are not visible on the street.
And that is one example of the reason we don't have a public option in the bill.
