Although I've frequently seen DKos members self-described as "fact based" (this is usually part of a derogatory comparison with right-wing ideologues), the amount of sheer speculation, assumption, and downright confabulation concerning the supposed content of the recently-passed health care reform law that permeates the comments is simply staggering.
Therefore, as a public service to the community, over the fold is an abbreviated Table of Contents of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. I would have included the entire Table of Contents, but that (let alone the entire text of the act) probably would have crashed the DKos servers.
The individual "mandate," which seems to be a frequent area of misinformation, appears in Title I, Subpart F, Part I, Section 1501. Subsection 1501(a) sets forth the Congressional findings that the "mandate" falls within Congress's commerce clause powers and Subsection 1501(b) amends the Internal Revenue Code to impose the penalty for not maintaining "minimal essential coverage."
