called "Counterfactual", subtitled - A curious history of the C.I.A.'s secret interrogation program. - by Jane Mayer - is a review of the book "Courting Disaster", by Marc A. Thiessen - a former speechwriter in the Bush presidency.
You can find the review on the New Yorker site. I just want to call attention to it here, as I think there were comments mentioning that Thiessen has recently been added as an online columnist by the Washington Post here at KOS. And wasn't he on "The Daily Show" just a bit ago?
Thiessen seems to be a wholly owned tool of the Bushies - his thesis is that torture is a good thing; protected us from a lot of enemies. He says that the Heathrow bombing plot was stopped by the C.I.A.'s use of torture. Scotland Yard, however, by this review, says that's a bunch of rubbish.
The review goes on in great detail about the many lies, overstatements, misinterpretations, & general bogus horseshit this carbuncle on the butt of humanity blathers out in his white-washing rewrite of history. Fact free & spinful, his book is useless to all but the most compromised Tea Bag Head, & should be avoided by anyone interested in keeping their mental health.
Just wanted to call attention to the review -
