Is continuing to justify the disastrous decision to go to war in Iraq so important to John McCain that he is even willing to dismiss the sacrifices still being made by our men and women in the military? From a March 13, 2010 town hall in Nashua, New Hampshire:
There's a lot of other issues that I, we'd like to [inaudible], but I'd just wanted to say again because our veterans are here, that I'm happy to tell you that elections in Iraq went okay. Look, democracy is a hard thing, but it was a contested election and there's no other country in the Middle East besides Israel where there's a contested election. And the most importantly than that, now for three months, there has not been a single American service member killed or wounded in Iraq.
In the three months prior to McCain's statement, twelve U.S. service members were killed in Iraq and at least 89 were wounded.
