We have, as a community, a great opportunity with which to propagate our progressive and American ideals. Since it's inception the Coffee Party has picked up serious momentum based upon its message of inclusiveness, and solutions-oriented criticism, as opposed to the Teabaggers white-out fits of rage. Follow me beyond the orange thingy and we'll explore the spread of The Coffee Party, and simple things this community can do to extend the momentum its been experiencing.
Full Disclosure: I am a student at the University at Buffalo majoring in Economics. I was my campus' coordinator for Students for Barack Obama during the '08 campaign, and until the recent economic downturn I was the Chief Marketing Officer for a business located at over 40 campuses. I disclose these things only to highlight the extent of my marketing and programming experience, and in no way believe myself to be an expert. That said, any ideas or criticisms are entirely welcome and encouraged in the comments.
From the Coffee Party "About Us" page:
We are diverse — ethnically, geographically, politically, in age and in experience.
We are 100% grassroots. No lobbyists here. No pundits. And no hyper-partisan strategists calling the shots in this movement. We are a spontaneous and collective expression of our desire to forge a culture of civic engagement that is solution-oriented, not blame-oriented.
We demand a government that responds to the needs of the majority of its citizens as expressed by our votes and by our voices; NOT corporate interests as expressed by misleading advertisements and campaign contributions.
We want a society in which democracy is treated as sacrosanct and ordinary citizens participate out of a sense of civic duty, civic pride, and a desire to contribute to society. The Coffee Party is a call to action. Our Founding Fathers and Mothers gave us an enduring gift — Democracy — and we must use it to meet the challenges that we face as a nation.
About Us
The Coffee Party gets it. The People, in general, are not wiling to become associated with an organization that is stuck in 18th century America. From KingOneEye today we get a strong picture of the helplessness and confusion taking place on the side of the Teabaggers:
"Psychologically speaking...it offers relief from helplessness and a sense that things are falling apart. It offers a sense of cohesion and identity based on certainty, a commonality of interests, innocence, and even martyrdom. While the world of the tea-party'ers is filled with danger, it is a danger mitigated by moral certainty, clarity of purpose, and a definable external enemy."

This is where we come in. Although screaming and shouting may be more newsworthy, I am wholly convinced that with a little effort from this community the #Coffeeparty can become a strong and worthwhile endeavor.
This is what we're fighting for:
Healthcare reform
Job Creation
Clean Energy
I'm directly asking all of you to submit your ideas in the comments on how we can springboard this movement and overtake the insanity that is the Teaparty. I plan on creating a Coffee Table Guide, with all of your comments and ideas for marketing and recruitment taken into consideration. Also, anyone who wishes to help edit or collaborate is completely welcome.
Thanks!
