that you have to get sick to get well.http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/12/science/12psychedelics.html?hpw.
If you did not yet read the article in the Times today about how doctors are using hallucinogens again, and the interesting results from their studies, you missed a front page story on how all our friends in the sixties found love.
I turned 15 in 1960 and so, I was there. It was a great time of optimism. We had this new music that allowed us to jump and stomp. We felt the joy that life had for us in a very changing country. We were sending people to the moon, it just seemed that life was going to get better and better.
We loved to fight authority. It was a love story. Many of our friends went to the South to register our newly franchised citizens. We also had to fight the War and that was a real challenge on both sides of that deeply dividing issue. I lost a brother to Canada and had my own adventures in the Air Force.
But one other thing was talked about and experimented with was drugs. We started to move from beer and the "hard stuff" to well...you know... weed...lol
It is good to read that I may in the future get another try at the afore mentioned hallucinogens, and joint the many others that get to there....where ever there is....but it seems like I'm going to have to get very sick first....shit...
