Because nobody (except sboucher) reads up here: I would have been a professional athlete, but being a coach looked way cooler to me. Plus, you didn't have to run. I blame Joe Gibbs.

Arguing with Crazy, Racist People (That Aren't Teabaggers)
I don't flaunt it much, here, but I have other spaces on this big thing they call the internet, and yes, it includes a Facebook page. I had a MySpace, but...come on, how many social networks do you really need? And despite my initial misgivings about Twitter, I love that crap. But this diary isn't about that.
Sunday, I decided to comment on a post that one of my elder friends—a film director in Los Angeles—put up on his page, after I read several comments. One of the comments included a black woman who was talking about American Idol, and one of the contestants, Mike Lynche.
Among her random comments included this gem of intelligence:
The Caucasians are not voting for him because of O.J. and the blacks are voting for him because he's the only one left!
Okay, did you all read that?
According to this woman, the reason why Mike Lynche almost got run from American Idol last week is because white people still hate O.J. Simpson for killing his wife. 16 years ago. Eight years before American Idol even came to this shore. Seven years before 9/11. 14 years before the nation elected Barack Obama president of the nation. O.J. couldn't be further from the minds of most Americans, and yet O.J. is the reason...for that?
Yes, I know. Facepalm all you'd like, then continue reading.
Of course, what doofus alludes to in that statement is that Mike Lynche is married to a white woman. Wow. Shock of all fucking shocks. You know, because that's the shit that's going to keep him from becoming an American Idol or having a music career, and not the fact that he might just fucking suck. He sucks less than most the other people suck on that show, but suck is suck, and if you suck more than the suckiest on a certain week, and the people think you suck, you're going home. The only reason why he didn't is because the judges had a one-time veto, and used it for Lynche. So, if he sucked enough last night, and the audience sends him home, he'll still get a contract somewhere. See how American Idol works? But I digress.
I, of course, responded to several points in my response, but included this bit of opinion, in rebuttal to one of the dumbest and illogical things I've ever heard:
I don't think the white people aren't voting for Mike because of O.J. That's just ridiculous. What does O.J.'s stupid Jailhouse Rock mess have to do with Mike, exactly? Other than the fact that he's married to a woman who ain't black? There's nothing new on that there front, and that's well before O.J.'s shenanigans.
Now, I have disagreed with people online before. I will continue to disagree with people online. I tend to think with logic more than with random conspiracy theories. I am Mr. Spock. But there's a difference with disagreeing with sane people and people who are batshit insane. And so, we have this woman. I'll let you figure out which of which she is.
She starts off her response to me by poking fun at my name, and then says this:
When someone directly uses me and the word ridiculous in the same paragraph, I should feel offended.
Um...the only time I even mentioned this person was in a @ tag with her name on it. I called her point ridiculous. And most logically sane folks would agree that point was ridiculous. But this woman isn't logical, or it seems, sane.
Because she follows up with this:
I'm a Big Girl. You either have a white girlfriend/wife or you live in a "White exclusive World". Don't be offended by my words...
Ladies and gentlemen...we have ourselves a racist.
Other than the fact that this is quantifiably false, this is the least offensive thing she will say to me in the course of this argument. For the record: I don't have a wife or girlfriend of any shade, nor would I be opposed to having a wife/girlfriend who isn't black. Yeah, that too; I'm black. Yet Ms. Crazy disagrees:
You sound like those young men call "Buppies" black urban professionals. Locked up in freedom of all Americans. (is that your real avatar?) You may be white come to think about it. One of those moles. Nothing personal, just read history. I went back to College and had to take 1950's to 1970's History. I had flashbacks!!! It erps me when I hear young rappers use the "N" word disregarding the fight that the older generation had to go through!!
SO I'M RIDICULOUS. Go talk to a "Tea Bagger". Watch "Fox News". P.S. Sarah Palin is also an idiot.
Okay, so now do you see what I'm dealing with? I said I found her point that whites weren't voting for Mike Lynche ridiculous, and now, I'm a “buppie”? A mole? And I should go watch Fox News and talk to teabaggers?
This woman has no fucking clue where I hang out at most of the time I'm on the internet, does she? You know who knows me better than this nut? sboucher, who I've never spoken to outside the IVH!
Yet, like I said: this is a clear sign of a woman losing the argument, and not being able to back up fundamental claims with evidence. In other words, I'm a "white-posing-as-black elitist who should watch Fox News and hang with similarly racist teabaggers"...and her stupid point about O.J. remains stupid. And I replied saying as much:
But of course, instead of making a solid counterargument to support your claim and leave it at that, you choose to attack me personally, with a bunch of falsehoods that would make Michael Steele blush in embarrassment. Way to communicate, [name redacted] ; I call your assertion ridiculous, and you launch into a tirade basically calling me a white teabagger. Talk about missing the point by miles. You can't back up a challenge to your argument with facts, so you resort to insults.
Because that's what argument losers do. Just like many Republicans; how ironic. And I asked her, because she claimed to have studied the O.J. racial dynamics since the trial ended, to cite her claims with an actual study; knowing full well she was talking out of her ass.
However, because this woman's crazy train is already running off the rails, she escalates the racism and insults.
I know when a little whipper snapper is berating my intelligence. That's what White people do.
Yeah, if only there was intelligence there to berate. Which I didn't do, but I digress. Continued:
If I state an opinion regrading the only black singer left on American Idol and he was almost ousted, but saved by the judges, in order of maintaining a Black base. That's my opinion.
No, shithead; what you said was that the show intentionally picked the worst black singers, then tried to state that the reason why whites weren't voting for Mike was because of O.J. And I called you on it, and you came back with bellicose, libelous claims against me. Like this:
I can say this, I gave you a reason and you did just like the 20% that went with Bush and 2 wars! Put your blinders on! What you can't prove as being ridiculous is ridiculous. I proved my position. You are just so "Oreo cookied up" You refuse to face the true facts! You can call my not allowing you to get away with your silliness a TIRADE. And I did not call you a "White Teabagger" You're worst, you're a "Uncle Tom"
Again, does everyone see what I'm dealing with? Here's a hint: it's a crazy person. Also: racist, delusional, blowhard, asshole.
I posted a reply shooting down each and every possible slanderous lie, a la Rachel Maddow to Scott Brown. Here's an example:
The 20% that went with Bush? [You] marvelously ignorant fool; do you even know my voting record? If you did, not only would you understand that I never voted for one Republican presidential candidate since I was first eligible in 2000 to do so; you'd find that the Republican Party and my values do not mix. Since 1995, when I was 15, and they shut the government down, causing trouble for my family. If you knew who I was, you'd know what I was for politically. You don't.
You are lying. Stop it.
Then she has the nerve to try and play herself as the victim. Like most people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder do, or so I've read. The moderator of the post came in and chided her for her idiotic posts, and she apologized. Not really:
I'm sorry. You know I'm not racist. I'm just pulling that little guys chain. I realized too late that he wasn't on a level playing field. I apologize to you... I'm really a nice person. I see now that you did not realize the levity of using the word "ridiculous". If you go to my page. I have the majority of my High School FB friends on there, 99.9% white.
He posted a note back saying he appreciated the apology. I, however, saw right through this load of shit. An apology laced with even more backhanded insults, after she spent the better part of three posts calling me a white-loving Uncle Tom teabagger, then capped with the classic "I'm not a racist; I haz white friends" line of bullshit that racists always use, is not an apology. Thus:
ME: I'll make it simple: I don't accept. I need not elaborate further.
I realize I should have added, “fucking asshole”, but out of respect to my friend who doesn't like such language, and as a tribute to personal restraint, I withheld. But, come on. "The levity of using the word 'ridiculous'"? Uh-huh. Still with the little crackbacks about my race. And it's my fault that she can't disagree like an adult.
Yet she's not a racist, petulant asshole who made an impossibly random and dumb point. I and everyone else who read that shit just took her out of context. She's the victim. And this shithead is black, and should know better than this. If a random white dude actually said the shit to her she said to me, she'd be hollering all sorts of racism.
Somewhere I read that you cannot reason with crazy people. It was written by a woman with a Ph.D. in psychology. I'm not going to argue with a shrink, in this regard. There's no reasoning with a crazy person who calls you all sorts of names and challenges your racial identity, all because you deign to have a different opinion than they do, and then like a typical asshole, say things like, "don't take it personal", and "Don't be offended". And I have to accept that apology and pretend not to be offended by that?
Fuck off. I am offended. I don't need that shit. And I'm not accepting that apology. Ever. Unless she writes a more sincere and serious one, and personally directs it to me. Which I don't expect, ever. So that's that.
Fucking asshole.
