More evidence of how the Christian right is infiltrating so-called "mainstream" media. Clear Channel is airing the "Dawson McCallister Live" show on its mainstream commercial radio stations, where young people are now unwittingly connected to a Christian ministry where they are subjected to proselytizing and conservative Christian messages.
Clear Channel listeners, thinking they are calling to hear advice from qualified professionals on issues like relationships and sexuality, are instead exposed to fed anti-gay messages and encouraged to embrace conservative Christianity.
This story ran in today's Boston Globe:
Call to Kiss 108 angers gay activists
It's one thing to have such content on a station that is obviously religious in nature, but here we have one of Boston's major commercial FM outlets participating in sneaky religious proselytizing. So much for America's "liberal media."
Large corporate entities, which have an interest in promoting a conservative religious agenda (because religious conservatives tend to elect candidates who will be sympathetic to the corporate agenda, among other reasons)have totally overtaken America's major media.
There is a facebook page dedicated to boycotting Clear Channel and Kiss 108 until Dawson McCallister's show is dropped. See:
