There are tons of videos on the `net. I love listening to music while working. When break time comes, I'll often watch a short video. Usually these are
music videos. Below are my current favorite sites to find them. Some are political, but most are not. We all need a break from politics sometimes.
Wrote a diary not too long ago featuring a fellow named Tom. He has some moving videos on his site, TomSongs.org. Looks like another Kossack was impressed by Tom and wrote a couple of diaries including his work and also provides several links to music and videos. Now that I've read Jim's diary, I'll try not to duplicate.
It's always wonderful to have sites that contain clips from great shows like
The Daily Show,
Countdown, and the like. Videos inspired by
Cindy Sheehan and
the Katrina disaster are moving, but too sad to watch regularly. I have gotten rather hooked on the song,
"George Bush Doesn't Care About Black People". I was listening to it at home one time and my youngest was all impressed when he thought it was "Golddigger." When he found it was political, he did the eye-rolling thing that teens are so good at. There's a video version that I've seen, but can't find the link right now.
I've been a fan of RatherGood.com for quite a while. It started when someone sent me a link to Viking Kitties, which oddly enough, seems to have disappeared from that site. The "sponge monkeys" from the site where featured in a Quiznos ad a while back. Recently, I was searching for another favorite, Laibach (Marching Kitties), and found the UK version of the site. It has a wealth of great "stuff" to explore. Sticking to just the videos, my favorites of those so far are "Hand over Bin Laden", and "Lego Starwars".
They even have shirts!--->
Joel at RatherGood also has this animation of a White Stripes song. Saw the video before I became of fan of White Stripes. Love the fact that they have downloads avaliable at their site. The Daily Show appearance was great!
Some classic 3D videos are from Jason Taylor (love his "Cookie Blues") and "Raymond and his love for cheese" by Micheal Loeck. The two of them used to have a cute site mostly for kids called Bouncy Tales, but they are redoing it. There's also a site that rates 3D vids. You can find Raymond there too. Speaking of kids, this site has some cute videos that kids might enjoy. The short versions of films done by bunnies are hilarious!
Wasn't sure about sharing this link since not everyone is a fan of Clay Aiken. However, I write mostly for my own pleasure, so why not? Writing a diary also makes it easy to send links to people, and to conveniently access links from any available computer. If anyone else here at the Daily Kos finds this handy, so much the better!
