Maureen Dowd has written another brilliant
piece in today's NY Times, about the Bush London visit.
My own two cents: How gutless is Bush to run to London, and then hide behind the $8.5 million security and the Queen's petticoats while he calls on Isreal and the Palestinians to renew negotiations? Where was this courageous voice when he was face-to-face with Sharon? Sharon owns Bush, and brushes off this kind of talk while he goes ahead with another bulldozing of homes and building his wall. If Bush says a word, Sharon reminds him of what it's like to have terrorists blowing themselves up every day in your homeland, and Georgie shuts up. There's no future in the iron fist policy, they both know it, but are too caught up in the testosterone and egomania to think it through and come up with something that might actually work.
