All eyes & ears in political wonkdom (just made up that word) are on Arkansas, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania today. So, I have appropriate "eats & treats" for the occasion plus 1 "this day in history" item that I absolutely positively MUST mention; the comedic deities will smite me if I don't!
I basically have no "personal connection" to Arkansas except the husband of my favorite college professor was born & raised there. I spent a good chunk of today sticking pins in a Blanche Lincoln voodoo doll. If it actually works, I may convert! ;D
The state bird of Arkansas is the mockingbird, so, for your consideration...
I've spent oodles of time in Kentucky! My favorite place there by far is the Louisville Slugger Museum.
Mint julep, anyone?
My Pennsylvania connection popped up unexpectedly when Hubby & I were driving toward the east coast, and my car broke down just east of State College! AAA had to come tow us to town, and we rented a car for the rest of the trip. And, I've been to Hershey, too. Yes, the town smelled like chocolate! Pennsylvania voters, remember why Arlen Specter switched parties!
And, help yourselves to a Philly cheesesteak sandwich!
FINALLY, the "must mention" this day in history item is Tina Fey's birthday; she is 40 today!
