Hi, everyone. CJB here. Welcome to Saturday Morning Home Repair. SMHRB is where we gather every Saturday morning to share frustrations, questions, possible solutions, and general wisdom about keeping our houses in good shape. Everyone is welcome and you should feel free to ask questions. Hopefully, the collective professional expertise and DIY experience here can help you out with your projects.
Sorry this is going to be a short one. It’s late on Friday and I didn’t have time this week to put together the diary that I’d planned.
Progress on the basement continues. MrCJB is doing everything he can without having to pull a permit for stuff. Much of what he’s doing is untangling the illegal stuff that the previous owner did. Some of it’s quite Goldbergian.
I've been working on making the laundry area more user friendly. We're not going to have time to finish that area before my sister and bro-in-law get here on July 1st, so I'm doing what I can to disguise the icky walls and scrub it up. There's an old cement double sink in there that I sort of wish we could make practical, but I'm pretty sure that it's destined for the sledge hammer after they leave at the end of July.
We’re also trying to seal the outside of the house on the west so that we can deal with the spalling inside in the basement. The spring has been so thoroughly wet, though, that progress there has been slow, slow, slow.
I hope all of you are having success with your projects, and that the weather wherever you are is not hindering your efforts.
Thanks, as always, to claude for this valuable resource. I really love this series for all of the fun and help it has been.
Next time, more effort on my part, I promise!
Carry on, then, friends.
(I labeled this diary as v4.40, because it looked like there were two 4.38s. Just FYI.)
