I really can't believe what I heard tonight on MSNBC.
I missed the 7pm EST Hardball and saw Rachel at 9pm so feel compelled to comment on Dr. Chu's comments before I light into Axlerod who I just now saw (at midnight) on the Matthews rebroadcast.
What the f*ck is the White House thinking?
Do they understand the magnitude of this unfolding disaster?
Do they realize that they look and sound like the keystone cops, or worse, the Bush Administration?
Please follow me over the fold for some tough (really tough) criticism of the Obama Adminstration's response to the Deepwater Horizon disaster from a long time supporter, and very hard working campaign professional, who's had the president's back since early '07.
Are they fucking kidding?!?!?!?!?!?!
First listen to Rachel grill Steven Chu after he said "he only knew what he read in the newspaper" when referring to a moratorium on offshore oil drilling. Rachel kept her composure, but not by much. What does this bozo (I know he has a Nobel Prize in Physics and must be really really really smart, but come on) think this is, some kind of high school drill?
THIS IS THE FUCKING MOST IMPORTANT SHORT TERM (IMMEDIATE) CRISIS YOU WILL BE DEALING WITH AS A GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Show some leadership. Show some intensity. Show some understanding of the gravity of this, ummmm, situation. And will you fucking show just one god damned ounce of political acumen!!!!
Speaking of that little thing called politics (you know the stuff that happens in DC), how about we turn to David Axelrod.
Tonight while being interviewed on Hardball, standing on the perfectly manicured White House lawn, the President's chief political advisor came off like a third rate campaign hack with a few too many martinis under his belt.
Listen to this bullshit response and the follow on back-and-forth to an initial question by Chris Matthews.
Who does he think we are? Children? Morons? Fools?
I am so god damned pissed and flabbergasted that the administration has taken this light touch wait-and-see attitude towards what will likley become the single most devasting human caused environmental disaster in the history of this nation.
Am I missing something or is the administration f**king this one up to high heaven???
