Today I received a letter from Bill Clinton asking me to give him money, but as long as Bill keeps financially and verbally supporting Blue Dogs and Blanche Lincoln (D-Walmart) my wallet will remain closed. My dollars are fungible and I simply can't risk Lincoln using one of them for another "Dollar Bill" ad. The letter and my response are after the fold.
Paul,
I see it every day.
In my travels -- whether to Haiti, South America, Africa, throughout the United States, or my office in Harlem -- I see the commitment of individuals like you to improve the lives of others.
Small actions sustained over weeks, months, and years, can amount to a big difference.
At a moment when the challenges of our day -- helping Haiti rebuild, combating climate change, overcoming poverty -- demand our urgent attention, I'm hoping you'll join me in making a powerful commitment to creating solutions that will last.
I'm inviting you and a select number of other supporters to become a member of my Giving Circle, a small but vital group of donors who support our work through monthly donations.
Will you join my Giving Circle with a monthly gift today?
Month in and month out, your steady donations will allow us to work with urgency and allocate resources where they are most needed -- and will yield measurable results through our programs on the ground.
Our Giving Circle donors have been able to provide Haiti with more than 24 tons of medical supplies; delivered clean water to thousands of people in Malawi; helped 40 cities reduce greenhouse gas emissions; created healthier learning environments in 7,800 schools in all 50 states; and helped 4,000 Rwandan farmers increase their yields by an average of 240 percent.
With your help, we cannot only sustain this progress -- we can build on it to reach even more people.
Please accept my invitation to become the newest member of my Giving Circle.
Time and again, the passion and dedication of Clinton Foundation supporters like you have shown me that no challenge is too great for us to overcome if we work together.
Thank you, as always, for your generous support. I look forward to working alongside you and your fellow Giving Circle members to keep progress moving forward.
Sincerely,
Bill Clinton
My response:
Dear Clinton Foundation,
As long as Bill Clinton continues to support corporate whores like Blanche Lincoln, his foundation and his DLC cronies will receive no money from me or my family.
Thanks,
Paul
Have a great day!
