Remember the thuggish, anti-gay westboro baptist church (which is neither baptist nor a church) of that bigot, fred phelps and their picketing the funeral of Matthew Snyder - a marine killed in Iraq - with banners saying "God hates fags" and "Thanks God for dead soldiers".
Well, they are about to get their comeuppance.
HuffPo reports:
Forty-eight states and the District of Columbia have submitted a brief to the Supreme Court in support of a father who sued anti-gay protesters over their demonstration at the 2006 funeral of his son, a Marine killed in Iraq.
48 states have joined this fight against this homophobic group of thugs. Apparently, Virginia (of kookinelli shame) and Maine are the two who copped out.
This hate group has the distasteful and disgusting habit of protesting in funerals of all kinds including across the border in Canada (before they chickened out)- all under the guise of 'freedom of speech'. No one is spared from their hatred - funerals, gays, jews, marine corps.
And the supremes are about to debate their vile tactics.
The Supreme Court has agreed to consider whether the protesters' message is protected by the First Amendment.
In the brief filed Tuesday, the states argued they have a compelling interest in protecting the sanctity of funerals.
Good for these states to stand up for some human decency. I hope the supremes draw the line finally and these MF'ers are sued out of existence.
