At last someone, Fareed Zakaria had the courage to strike the media for lashing President Obama's lack of emotion in his response to the BP oil disaster in the gulf of Mexico.
For more than two weeks the mainstream media has been feeding us a daily diet of frenzy regarding presidential emotion and Obama's deficiency in this art of leadership.
Whereas I agree that the First Lady, Michelle Obama is better at hugging, feeling and touching people, and that the President is yet to develop this art of feeling your pain in front of TV cameras, the excessive coverage by the media of this leadership shortcomings has been painful to watch. Especially, when I see people like James Carville and his wife repeatedly trash the White House anemic response to the oil spill in the gulf, I cringe.
So it is very refreshing to see Fareed Zakaria respond to this mob mentality of the media. Mr Fareed who is not shying away that he is really pissed, decried what he called
"a terrible example of how the media can trivialize political discussion."
He added that those who were fixated on presidential emotions missed the opportunity to discuss reforms and actions that could have a real impact on the situation in the Gulf of Mexico.
Ride on brother!
