No...THIS THREAD is your father.
- Some excerpts from the Texas Republican Party platform:
Confederate Widows Plaque – We call for restoration of plaques honoring the Confederate Widow’s Pension Fund contribution that were removed from the Texas Supreme Court building.
Great to know we're focusing on the important stuff.
Texas Sodomy Statutes – We oppose the legalization of sodomy. We demand that Congress exercise its authority
granted by the U.S. Constitution to withhold jurisdiction from the federal courts from cases involving sodomy.
Wait, does that apply to hetero sodomy as well?
Marriage Licenses – We support legislation that would make it a felony to issue a marriage license to a same-sex couple
and for any civil official to perform a marriage ceremony for such.
Yeah, that's right. If you even issue an invalid marriage license to a gay couple in the State of Texas, the official position of the Republican Party is that you should be thrown in jail. And if the national Party disagrees?
Contributions to Conservative Candidates – We support the withholding of campaign contributions to organizations or campaigns including the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee and all other organizations or campaigns which would support candidates who do not support the principles of the 2010 Texas State Republican Party Platform.
Hey Texas Republicans: please oh please read and obey your platform!
